National Basketball Association (shk. NBA) është një ligë profesionale e basketbollit nga ShBA, dhe më e populizuara në botë. NBA u themelua në New York City, SHBA më 6 qershor 1946 si Basketball Association of America (shkurt: BAA), (shqip: Shoqata Basketbollistik i Amerikës). Kjo ligë e mori emrine National Basketball Association në vjeshtë të vitit 1949 pas bashkimit me ligën konkurente National Basketball League.
